The UK Food Standards Agency have recently published the results of a survey of various mycotoxins (ochratoxin A, aflatoxins and patulin) in 199 baby and infant food products. www.food.gov.uk/science/surveillance/fsis2004branch/fsis6804

Overall the level of mycotoxin occurrence was very low. Less than 10% of samples had detectable levels of these toxins, even at the very low limits of detection required by the regulations for such foods. Please contact RHM Technology’s Mycotoxin Team if you would like to find out more about the potential risks of mycotoxins in baby foods or the new regulations covering this product group.
